Ellen and Oprah will share the space, something the comedian lobbied for after Michelle Obama broke new ground by appearing with Oprah on the April issue earlier this year. “I’m going to let (Orpah) be on, slightly behind me. You’ll see a little bit of her,” Ellen joked in an interview for Ellen’s Bigger Longer and Wider show, a variety special she’s taping next week in Chicago to air on TBS on June 27.
Ellen also took a minute to talk about Adam Lambert’s Rolling Stone news. “I’m proud of him. Obviously, a lot of people speculated. But you can’t just guess that a guy is gay just because he wears makeup,” she said. “I’m a huge advocate for someone living their honest, truthful life. I think that’s what our responsibility is. We have this life, this opportunity — not only for ourselves to be truthful because that’s a healthy way to live, but if you can help other people who are struggling.”
So should he have come out sooner — maybe during American Idol? “Who’s to say? He didn’t have to do it all. To say the timing is convenient is after the fact. He’s just starting his career.” She says that maybe, “he was told let’s just get through American Idol. Everyone has a lot of people saying you should do this and you should do this. The fact is he’s just really starting his career. I’m really proud of him, and there are lot of people who are still not out in this business.”

Ellen speaks really well, and I like that she isn’t a pushy lesbian like Rosie O’Donnell…always sounding kind of angry and bitter. I don’t think Adam really had to come out at all, it was his decision to come out when he did and I don’t think there was any stategy behind it or anything. If anything he was probably told to not say anything during Idol, which is why now that it’s over he wants to just be truthful and stop any speculation.
she;s looking a little leathery here
maybe some people WANT to be in the closet
I LOVE Ellen and Portia.
