Queen Latifah has made a shocking revelation — she was the victim of sexual abuse as a child.
In the July issues of Essence, the Oscar-nominated actress reveals that she was once molested by a teenage babysitter, leading her unable to form meaningful relationships as an adult.
“He violated me,” says Queen. “I never told anybody. I just buried it as deeply as I could and kept people at an arms length. I never really let a person get too close to me,” Queen continued. “I could have been married years ago, but I had a commitment issue.”

NO the real question is..WHEN IS SHE COMING OUT OF THE CLOSET ALREADY?????
datgirl, lol…
I would never be dismissive of anyone’s claims of being molested. That’s some serious shit. Still, I have to roll my eyes just slightly at her using the cloak of childhood abuse as her excuse not to get married, when the big old lesbian elephant in the room is just begging to be acknowledged. Or to put it more succinctly, “Bitch, please.”
Oh hell she can live her life the way she wants, they need to do more then what they do a slap on the wrist to these damn asswipes of a child molesters!
…yawns….
should have brought htis up years ago instead of last week
what the hell you trying to promote?
what a joke
This explains why she’s gay. Most gay people were molested as children.
another chapter in nature v nurture
Mike, you have got to be joking right? Are you trolling?
As for nature v. nurture? Bullshit.
what do you mean junkie…it’s one or the other…or a combo of both! lol
Unfortunately, tragically, this is an all too common story. Fucking monsters!
I agree with you giftbox. I think it’s terrible that she was abused as a child, molestation is just unforgivable especially by someone who should have been trustworthy. I don’t think she really needs to use it for an excuse for not being married though. I thought it was already confirmed that she was a lesbian?
I don’t know about anyone else but when Queen was a young girl rapping I thought she was rather masculine. She seemed to redeem that image when she was on that sitcom “Living Single” by seeming fairly attractive but when she did “Set it Off” folks took her great acting ability as acknowledgement of her sexuality.
I think that people should just leave her alone because if she is not ready to share the most private part of her being, so be it. What we should be concerned about is her alleged mistreatment of some of her staff. Her homosexuality, though not to my liking, is still her business. Let her be. Suppose she’s really straight folks.

Leave Queen alone! If she doesn’t want to share her true sexuality with you, that’s her business. Whereas I always felt that when she was a young girl rapping, that she was rather masculine, she was redeemed in that sitcom “Living Single” by being kind of attractive. But the movie ‘Set if Off’ starting tongues to wagging. People often confuse superb acting with the real thing. I do not.
The only thing I hope for her is that she comes to terms with whatever she is and not buckle under public pressure. If she is gay, hell, so are a lot of females in the media today and on the street and in just about every profession you find. I have never understood it but give her feelings validity and buzz off.
