The 50-year-old pop diva – whose bid to give a home to four-year-old Mercy James was rejected in March – has reportedly persuaded three Supreme Court of Appeal judges to approve the adoption.
Two judges have already submitted reports recommending Madonna be granted custody of Mercy, and the third is said to be “in complete unison with them”. The ruling is set to be announced on Sunday.
A Court of Appeal source tells The Sun: “The paperwork is being typed up now. All recommendations are in favour of the adoption taking place. Mercy should start packing her bags. She’s off to America.”
UPDATE: A publicist for Madonna has released a statement responding to that early morning reports claiming African courts have decided to allow the singer to adopt Mercy James, a four-year-old orphan from Malawi.
“Madonna has not been informed that a ruling has been made,” says her rep.

Please . i dread this mess, bitch think money cna get everything, poor lil girl living with that woman, she would have done better helping the girl with money or picking a poor African family to help with money instead taking her away from her roots! Great. Madonna gets her way again. Seriously, someone needs to say no to this woman and make her realise that she can’t just decide to adopt a child from a country that doesn’t allow adoption to a woman like her. She needs to respect the rules like everyone else. She should go and live there for twelve months to prove that she really wants that little girl.
