Decked out in a not-so-little little black dress, Mariah Carey was among the A-list attendees at the Apollo Theater 75th Anniversary Gala in New York City last night (June 8).
Celebrating the legacy of the famed Harlem venue that spawned such talents as Jaheim, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald and Jackie Wilson, the 40-year-old songbird was amongst others paying tribute to Patti Labelle and Bill and Camille Cosby.
Fellow celebrity invitees included the likes of Gayle King, Jamie Foxx and designer Roberto Cavalli.
Meanwhile, Mimi has added her name to the list of celebrity Susan Boyle fans, insisting she’s not surprised the Scottish singing sensation is freaked out by her sudden rise to stardom.
“I feel bad for her,” she says. “We build people up so quickly now that of course it’s going to freak some people out. It’s difficult. It’s got to be tough.”
Mariah herself suffered a headline-making physical and emotional breakdown in 2001.

The dress is pretty hot, but why does Mariah always feel the need to get her boobs out and wear something too tight. It’s a really bad look and just ages her in my opinion.
