Reese Witherspoon was snapped bonding with the UCLA women’s softball team in Los Angeles today (June 8 ) as they helped coach her to prepare for her role as a pro softball player in the upcoming James L. Brooks film.
The Oscar-winning actress could be seen exchanging high fives with the girls after she slid into home plate and even got a congratulatory hug from the coach!
Though she’s definitely a cool mom in our books, Reese says her kids don’t see the irony when it comes to their star of a mother.
“My children are embarrassed by me all the time. They’re like, ‘Mom you’re being really stupid,’” she tells Fox News. But she did get some redemption! “When Monsters vs. Aliens came out, Ava told me I’m the coolest mom in the third grade. I said, ‘Can you put it on a piece of paper and sign it for me please?’ I was cool once.”
And while Reese is famous for the variety of roles she plays, there’s definitely one type of character that you’ll never see her embodying — raunchy ones that her daughter could end up seeing someday!
“I had my first baby when I was 23, so for me, no. I’ve always been choosing roles knowing that I have a daughter and I have a responsibility to her and to the world to be representing women of strength,” the 33-year-old adds. “These are the women I know in life. I think it’s a natural extension of parenthood for you to feel like you’re responsible for the worlds you create, whether they be silly or serious. I think you are responsible for the art you put in the world.”

She’s in NY, she’s in LA. Either place she’s not looking good. Hire a stylist, Reese. Although I do appauld her for just lettin’ it all hang loose for softball practice, she needs to pull the mop on the top of her head back.
The way she talks about how young she was when she had Ava sounds like she was 16 or something. 23 really isn’t that young to have children and she had a good husband at the time as well as a comfortable salary from both of their careers. I think she’s pretty cute though and she’s not meant to look good here. She’s playing softball not walking the red carpet.
She’s cool. I like her. She has substance. That’s more than I can say about her counterparts.
I know that it ws made when she was younger and before she had children…. but anyone remember “Freeway”? That WAS raunchy… but I loved it!
