Taking advantage of his cleared up schedule, Jay Leno was seen going for a spin in his red rocket shaped car in Beverly Hills yesterday (June 4). The 59-year-old funnyman has some more free time after turning over the reins of the Tonight Show to new host Conan O’Brien.

Meanwhile, the ratings for Jay’s final show are in. Last Friday’s Tonight Show finale averaged 11.9 million viewers, only the seventh-most-watched episode of his 17-year NBC run, and well below the 14.6 million who watched President Barack Obama’s appearance on the show in March. For his final week, Leno averaged 7 million viewers.

Leno’s off the air until September 17, when he’ll return in the 10 o’clock hour to launch The Jay Leno Show five nights a week.
