Once upon a time, Ben Affleck’s diet consisted of booze, cigarettes and strippers. Then he married Jennifer Garner, dropped 20 lbs and got his career back on track.
Though his watchful wife was nowhere to be seen, the 36-year-old actor showed off his self restraint and discipline while on the Boston set of The Company of Men yesterday (June 3) as he bypassed the carb-packed craft services table and instead chowed down on a protein-loaded hard-boiled egg before getting back to work.
Earlier in the day, Ben and the rest of the cast and crew took over the 18th green at the Lawrence Gannon Municipal Golf Course to film scenes for the John Wells-directed flick. And judging by the club employees remarks, it appears Mr. Affleck’s acting skills trump his golf game.
Says eyewitness: “”His swing was so atrocious they had to have a stand-in.”

If you can’t marry the one you really want you marry the one you knocked up, you settle for second best.
Ben’s a lazy actor that’s why he needed a stand in for the golf scene. Actors are supposed to do a lot of research to become their character. If this was Matt Damon he would be learning how to be taking golf lessons to become a good golf player, he would be spending time working on construction sites with real workers to get a feel for what it’s really like not like Ben just dressing up in flannel shirts, Ben looks like a hollywood movie construction worker not a real one. Matt always becomes his characters and that’s what makes him a great actor, Ben takes the easy way out uses stand-ins and that’s what makes him a bad actor.
