Offering photogs a gracious smiile, Cameron Diaz looked happy and tanned as she left Barmarche restaurant in New York City today (May 28) after having lunch with a few friends. The actress is back in the Big Apple following a week-long vacay to Hawaii.
Meanwhile, in a new interview with Parade magazine, 36-year-old Cameron says that despite playing a mom in her new role in My Sister’s Keeper, she isn’t ready to start a family.
“I think that it’s normal for people to ask that … especially of someone my age, because it seems like the obvious thing: ‘Why haven’t you done it?’ It doesn’t bother me. It’s not the cross I bear,” she reveals. “I’m not somebody who is going to declare either way if I’m absolutely going to or I’m absolutely not going to have children. I have no idea. I’m still young. I have an unbelievable life. In some ways I have the life that I have because I don’t have children.”
Cammy also opens up about her love life, which has seen her date Justin Timberlake, John Mayer and British model Paul Sculfor.
“I think that I’ve what I’ve found, in my experience, is that you always find the person who you’re meant to be with at that time in your life,” she says of relationships, generally. “And what I’ve also found is that you have to move on from those people at certain times, because that’s the way it happens. For me personally, there’s nothing wrong with that. A lot of people find themselves trapped in something that they’ve outgrown and are unhappy. And they don’t know how to get out of it because they think that they’re supposed to make it happen.”

Love her attitude about having kids! Many people in her age demographic (including myself) are not as eager about having childern and settling down because life offers so much more now than it did 30 years ago. If it happens great! If it doesn’t, so be it. Life is good so live it up!
She looks pretty leathery! But, I do like her take on life.
It’s refreshing to hear a middle-age woman embrace a child-less life. Not everyone is cut out to have kids. Nor should they feel pressured to reproduce. Cameron is my hero!
good for her. nothing wrong with not wanting kids. i’m glad she admits it instead of saying she wants kids and not having any.
i meant: i’m glad she admits it instead of saying she wants kids JUST TO FEED THE PUBLIC and not having any.
nothing wrong if anyone says they want kids and end up not having any
There’s nothing wrong with not wanting kids and its refreshing to hear a little honesty about it. HOWEVER, the “I’ve got plenty of time” attitude could bite her and other women her age in the ass. Fertility drops dramatically for many women after their 20s and the risk of birth defects increase signficantly as you get older. Just raining on the parade…
There is always adoption. Plenty of needy children in this world without parents.
Ah, she bought some new hair to make herself feel better.
Sure, it’s her prerogative to not know if she wants children, however she needs to keep that “I am still young, there is still time” talk to herself. so many regular woman look at these Hollywood chicks having kids in their late, late 30’s and 40’s for the first time and they think it means it’s easy to do. They don’t realize how much MONEY these women are spending just for the chance to have these babies. God didn not intend for women to start childbearing at these ages. If you want kids, you’d better do it when you can and stop trying to push the boundaries of mother nature.
Yes a bit too tanned but she still looks great. Tara Reid should follow Cameron’s style on how to dress in your 30s.
I think that’s fine if she doesn’t want to have kids! Why does she have to? It must be a pain for her to have to talk about it all the time and explain why she hasn’t already. I think she seems pretty comfortable with her life and confident in herself and that makes her even more attractive to me.
Sculfor was hired, same with Aniston. She dated Drew
The truth is that Mayer and Aniston were never a couple. It was all acted. That is why he was tipping off the pap agencies, and leaving his car at her house overnight, while he got rides out hidden in the back of cars/limos, on the floor of the back seat under a blanket. HE WAS SEEN TRYING TO SNEAK OUT !!! VAUGHN DID THE SAME TRICK. It was a PR war against Pitt and Jolie. Organised by CAA who manages Aniston, (contractually) Sculfor, Diaz, Mayer, and Vaughn etc…. He has been meeting women on Twitter, sleeping with them as long as they are discreet. Their “relationship” was a SHAM from the beginning. The TWITTER “break up” excuse is a joke; they have no reason to “break up” and now they know audiences know they were faking it, they don’t even care to explain. They did ANYTHING to gain publicity over Pitt to win the Christmas war…..even pose nearly nu-de, talk about pregnancy, create marriage rumors for publicity…etc…Her personal life is HIDDEN. He agreed to a contract to run concurrent with her production, Marley and Me. That is why their (acted) relationship started at the beginning of M&M and ended as soon as the film delivered it was a publicity stunt, funded by the production: same as TBU. What people posting don’t understand is that she doesn’t want a judge a jury of her personal life, and the investors don’t want her personal life effecting the film’s gross return. So that is the truth, and what is more bizarre is that Vince did the same thing with TBU (same as Sculfor). They had a fictional relationship too, that seemed to people reading magazines, as though it was real. It wasn’t. It was all for publicity to stop nosy people like you guys asking personal questions that have nothing to do with you. She owes you NOTHING except a performance after you buy the ticket.
Not every woman has a problem getting pregnant over 35 some actually have no trouble at all.
Thank god at least one actress/celeb hasn’t gone all crazy about having babies.
I’m so sick of people talking about how old a woman should be if she wants to have kids. There are plenty of women who give birth over the age of 35 with no problems. It is just so arrogant to say that she or any woman shouldn’t wait much longer. Not every woman has found her dream guy by a certain age. That doesn’t mean you should just go out and get pregnant either.
dear actors act,
You really need to get over it. Now STFU.
sincerely,
chicken cutlets
She talks about not caring if she gets married and having kids so damn much! Jesus, there’s never an interview where she doesn’t mention one or the other subject. That sort of ever-present denial absolutely REEKS of desperation. She’d marry and start popping out kids in a second if someone asked her. Guess nobody has…
Hey Actors Act-I have read this same tirade you spout off more than once and I think the wording was exactly the same.
Did you save this and copy it to any article that has even the most remote connection to Mayer and Aniston?
Sad.
Get a life.
Well obviously she is not going to say “no one wants to have a baby with me” so it’s easier to act like it’s not a big deal not having a family.
I really believe women desire children some time through out their lives only to find out they have bad timing and it doesn’t happen because they can’t find a man who loves them enough to have children with or they have major fertility problems
oscar, i think that is her real hair. she has been trying to grow it out for years
what elsw would you say when dumped so many times. Besides liberals don’t like kids.
