MUSICIANS FOR SCIENCE

gq11

Will.i.am, Sheryl Crow, Seal, Aerosmith’s Joe Perry and Josh Groban have teamed up with GQ magazine and the Geoffrey Beene foundation to promote science literacy and research funding.

The artists have been photographed with medical researchers for Rock Stars of Science, a public service campaign to be launched in a six-page spread in the June issue, which hits newsstands today.

Says Sheryl: “It’s not everyday that Platinum selling artists have a chance to jam with Nobel Prize winners and recipients of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, but maybe we should. What these scientists are doing to fight diseases like breast cancer is just as much driven by inspiration and a passion for humanity as the best song ever written. Without our realizing it, they are quietly making everyone’s life healthier and fuller, so we all owe them our deepest respect and support.”

Profiles of the scientists, their teams and research institutions will be available at rockstarsofscience.org.

Actully, no Sheryl! What these scientists are doing is far more important than anything a musician does.
