Labeling her as “overrated,” Lily Allen has been blasting Britain’s Got Talent star Susan Boyle after a victorious performance on last weekend’s show.
The Fear singer was none too impressed with Susan’s rendition of the showstopper Memory, featured in the musical Cats.
And while it won Susan a spot on the show’s May 30 finale, Lily tweets: “I thought her timing was off on Sunday - no control, and I don’t think she has an amazing voice.”
Lily claims 12-year-old Shaheen Jarfagholi is far more talented than the 48-year-old Boyle and should have advanced to the finals.
She adds: “She can sing, but it’s not about talent with her, is it? She seems like a lovely lady but, if the show is about talent, then that Shaheen kid should win.”

Unlike Susan Boyle who was brought up on a council estate and waited 47 years for her chance to show the world what talent she has. Lily Allen a daughter of an actor and musician namely Keith Allen and a mother Alison Owen a film producer, had stardom given to her on a plate. Although she has no talent and cannot sing. How dare she be so jealous of Susan who has a voice that would kick Lily’s way out of touch! Lily may have gone to Public School and been lavished with the best money can buy, including being given an open opportunity curtesy of her parents position and contacts.Susan has made the singing circuit by herself without help from anyone. Lily needs to keep her comments to herself as do any other loud mouth celebrities. The public will decide the fate of Susan not the likes of Lily Allen. Lily might I suggest,contacts Susan to take a few singing lessons. Lily then may hit the top notes, which unfortunately is so lacking in her performances.
Keith Allen left his family, when Lily Allen was 4 years old. He did not return until she was in her late teens. Alison Owen, Alfie & Lily Allen, lived in a council estate, in Islington U.K. until, she was nine. When you listen to one of her songs called Chinese, she mentions beans on toast, that was a family meal.Keith Allen would show up only now & then. By the time Lily Allen was 15-16 she was bouncing around alone, or with friends to places like Thailand & Tokyo (pictures prove that) At one point (she was about 17 then) She stayed behind, in Ibiza Spain after she told her Mum, that she was staying with friends. She lied, she lived in a hostel, and worked at plastic fantastic record store. At this time 3 young boys were giving her unwanted attention (no nothing bad happened)but a man named George Lamb noticed them, and that conversation, between them, took her away for the boys. At one point, George Lamb took Lily Allen cell phone, and talked to her Mum, who then convinced Lily Allen to come home. George Lamb, is English radio personality, that works in London (then & now) they met up again, George introduced her, to Mark Ronson who took her to N.Y. and put her up at a Holiday Inn, and recorded her songs. He told her to down load the songs on the internet. That’s about it. Lily Allen is Just giving her simple opinion about how much hype surrounds these types of talent shows. She never compares herself, to Susan Boyle. The articles suggest what she means, to keep peoples interest. By the way Iv’ heard Lily Allen laugh in 4 high octaves, believe me she can sing.
Waited 47 years? that sounds to dramatic, do you know how old Susan Boyle is, Really. She looks to be about 47 (just a guess) It sounds like somebody had you’re number with that last anonymous comment. First of all Lily Allen needs to stop putting down other people and take a look at herself. She is certainly not perfect and in no position to criticise other artists, especially those a lot more famous and talented than her like Elton John.
I do think that Susan Boyle is talented, but I think it’s all a bit of a novelty for the show and a good way to get publicity. They have got a lot of publicity by using this woman, so it’s obviously worked well for them.
