With days to go until the big kick off of Paris Fashion Week, Burlesque queen Dita Von Teese makes a fashionably early debut in the City of Lights on Monday alongside her trusty assistant.
Glowing in a waist-cinching houndstooth dress and Fendi peep-toes, the raven-haired beauty was spotted leaving the Plaza Athenee in Paris yesterday en route to the head offfice of designer extradonaire Jean Paul Gaultier.
As you may recall, Dita surprised fashionistas everywhere when she paraded down the runway in full headdress and giant teardrops painted on her cheek at Gaultier’s Spring show last year.
Might she do an encore this year? Stay tuned!

I think she is very classy in her own way of course.
I think she is very pretty but I could not wear that much makeup on a daily basis.
She obviously wears or wore a corsett to get that figure and it’s just not natural and dangerous to wear those things all the time.. her organs can’t be anywhere near where Mother Nature intended.. that’s for sure… same thing as plastic surgery to me.. I prefer natural bodies and parts, whatever they may be

I don’t think she’s wearing a corset here. When she wears a corset, her waist is something like 16″. I do like her look, but I’m a bit tired of it. I wish she would mix it up - I think it would be interesting if she went all Bo-Ho or something! Heh.

She is wearing a corset, it’s blatantly obvious.. I wonder how she even breathes. She is so silly trying to live up to old Hollywood glamour with this shit. Why doesn’t she just let go, that era is over. She looks utterly ridiculous and I can’t imagine that she enjoys wearing a corset that’s squeezing the life out of her.

Actually, BJB, she loves wearing corsets. She has over 500 in her collection. She’s been wearing corsets for over 10 years. Although, she does have a 22′ waist to begin with. Small, yes, but she’s only 5′2-5′3. And she’s not silly for trying to live the old Hollywood glamour. It’s an era where women actually looked and dressed like women, not girls or boys.

I’m sure Dita would be so touched to know that you are all demanding that she drop her retro look (and corsets) simply for the sake of her health.
It’s also quite interesting that so many of you think she should change her look just to suit your 30-second attention spans. Just exactly why should she pander to the tastes of the unwashed masses?
She dresses to please herself, and to complement her career, and I, for one, am glad. She’s utterly glamorous and divine and a pleasure to behold. If the fates are willing,someday I’ll be as lucky as Stephi and get to catch her act.

Just askin’ I’ve seen documentaries on the severe long term damage of corsets.. I suppose China should bring back foot binding b/c it somes from a “glamourous” era? Not so much. Hey if that’s what she wants to do then fine.. just think those things are dangerous and hate to see young girls thinking that’s safe, that’s all.

Only1, long term damages can occur if someone were to unsafely wear corsets. Wearing them everyday in an uncomfortable manner would be a reason. But Dita does not cinch her waist down to 16′ everyday. Even she admitts that. I wear corsets too, but only for a few hours and I don’t cinch it down to something unreasonable. And I certainly don’t do it everyday.
Oh come on this is not about corsets its about jealously. Dita looks fabulous as usual and you nay sayers just can’t stand it.I hope you all choke on it.

Dita looks like something those crazy doll collectors would go nuts for. I find I don’t worry much about her internal organs, since dolls don’t have them. That said, she generally makes for a pleasant aesthetic experience. (As far as I pay attention. I’ve got one of those 30-second attention spans someone referred to, I’m afraid). But I hope earns what she needs to retire in the next few years, because this ain’t going to age well. Actually, it’s perfect for her. She can drop the schtick when she wants to, go back to “normal” and never be recognized. Smart cookie. Also, I do love that in the face she’s pretty average, but has found a way to get an edge.
Dita is fabulous and she’s pretty gorgeous. I’m glad that she’s different because I seriously didn’t realise how close minded some people are. Just because she dresses in a way that people think is weird she isn’t ‘normal’. Thats really fucking insulting actually because that means that presumably we should all be white and blonde/brunettes etc who wear jeans and tee shirts. How terrible of her to want to try a little glamour or just wear whatever the fuck she wants. At least she’s got class and style. People are more accepting of a couple of twin billionaires dressing like hobos than they are of a woman with elegance and who is quiet and intelligent.
As for the corset thing modern ones made by people who know what they are doing and who aren’t trying to cause any damage aren’t going to ‘rearrange her organs’. Its an alternative lifestyle so fair enough if you don’t ‘get it’ but there are people who do enjoy that, shock horror. People who have different tastes. Those dirty bastards, when will they all learn to conform?!

She has said she started dressing like this in her teens and doesn’t even own a pair of jeans. So its clearly not an act for her- she lives this way (just like lindsay lives like a dirty skank etc.)

She always looks fabulous! Too bad its not ‘modern’ or ‘in fashion’ enough for some but thats her look and she pulls it off. Oh right its not her look its copied from an older era (most common stupid argument) well better that than copy the fashions from today and look like every other starlet out there.
I agree that she is somewhat boring, because she always looks the same, but I have to admit I am very envious of her discipline. To always look perfectly groomed and to keep in such good shape all the time must be very difficult and she makes it look effortless. Plus, she hasn’t let all of the negative press about her divorce impact her life. She lives well and that is the best revenge. I would love to see her go chestnut brown or at least a dark auburn, that would be awesome! She is definately doing something right. She will be 35 at the end of the month but still looks like she’s in her 20’s!

I agree with you star^^!!! She really does look like a cartoon character. Maybe Snow White? I am kind of getting tired of her whole look but I have mad respect for someone who can stick with a theme for so long and not be tempted to just pull jeans and a tank top on. I read in an interview with her that when they asked her if she ever wore sweats at home she was shocked and said ‘no way! I wear just a floaty little skirt and a soft blouse or something’. That my friends in dedication.
