After giving her mom a hug goodbye, Katharine McPhee offered photogs a quick wave hello as she prepared to depart Los Angeles International Airport today (May 21).
Where to? New York City!
After a failed sellf-titled debut album, the American Idol reject is hard at work on her not very anticipated sophomore album.
Miss McPhee recently signed a new record deal with Verve Records (a label group under Universal Music Group). Her second album should be in stores by the end of the year.
Says Verve Music Group president/CEO Bruce Resnikoff: “The album she is working on will show many new sides to her talents as an interpreter and a songwriter, and show everyone just how special she is.”

First of all get your facts right. She was headed to Washington to sing at the National Memorial Day Concert on the US Capital lawn on Sunday for PBS with the National Symphony. Colin Powell, Gary Sinese and Trace Adkins will also be there.
Secondly, I am very eagerly awaiting her second CC and since when does a Gold single and 375 thousand records sold equal a failure?
