Award nominee and arguably the most handsome man at the show, Hugh Laurie strikes a debonair pose on the red carpet at the 59th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday.
Sadly, Hugh had no chance of taking home a trophy. Fellow nominees James Gandolfini, James Spader and Keifer Sutherland all carried a huge sentimental vote.
‘Boston Legal’ star Spader ended up finagling the award, adding, “I feel like I just stole a pile of money from the mob — and they’re all sitting right over there,” as he gestured toward ‘The Sopranos’ cast, which thanks to this year’s inaugural Emmy-in-the-round seating format, was all grouped together.

I still don’t know how James Spader won over James Gandolfini this year either…
i love hugh but i really don’t like house!
Sorry but I adore James Spader and I’m really excited about the award HOWEVER, I would be very scared of Gandolfini…I think they all deserve to win (maybe House less so) but I think the award….uh giver outers (?!) were pissed off after the final epi of The Sopranos. Bit of a let down.
Hugh is looking pretty damn rough around the edges, here. He looks like he’s coming down off a three-day bender.
