‘Ugly Betty’ has proven yet again she’s anything but — first-time nominee America Ferrera in a strapless blue frock with bronze beaded belt at the 59th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles.
Sure, she may not look quite as svelte as her recent Glamour magazine cover, but we love our America with all her curves — not a Photoshopped mock-up.

I like the color of the dress, but not the fit. Her hair and make-up are pretty though.

Not really enamoured of the gown or its color, but her hair and makeup are nice. And not in a pig-like way.

I guess I’m in the minority here… but I think she looks hot, and the dress certainly helped. It’s not tight on her, it’s just ruched (if that’s the correct fashion term). Love the color.

If people think that Betty is ugly then they must think America is ugly too becuase I can hardly see a difference besides the glasses….I know that sounds harsh but its true. I think shes been very lucky to score that role because sad as it is I don’t think she would have ever succeeded in Hollywood if it wasn’t for that show. I don’t like the dress either, too tight and the color washes her out.

Some of you make me sick.. geez, if it’s not malibu barbie on the red carpet, there’s something wrong with her or she ugly or fat.. COME ON.. bring your minds outside of LA and the “America” ideal of beauty. I am so proud to be latina, seriously, b/c the ideal of beauty is not placed on skinny jeans or small asses and fake, inflated chests.. it’s about natural beauty inside and out.. You would never go to Puerto Rico and hear anyone call America Ferrera fat.. EVER! unless they were american tourists —

Everywhere she is being put in the top best dressed. I don’t think so. I don’t like the dress but I think she looks bad. She looks like a stuffed sausage in it. Too tight of a dress for her.
