ONE SMALL STEP FOR TEENAGE MOMS, ONE GIANT LEAP FOR BRISTOL PALIN

bristol-palin

Congratulations to Bristol Palin!

The unwed teenage mother is now a high school graduate.

Donning a necklace of Blow-Pop lollipops – as many classmates did - 19-year-old Bristol walked the stage in her cap and gown at the Wasilla Sports Complex last night (May 14).

“Where’s my baby?” Bristol mouthed, searching the two front rows where her family sat until she finally spotted son Tripp near the backstage door, where Bristol’s Aunt Heather was feeding the infant a bottle.

With a wave to the little one she alternately calls “Handsome” and “My Guy,” Bristol crossed the stage – and received her diploma.

“I knew it would be hard work,” she tells People, “but I knew I was going to do it.”

What a true role model!

I can’t believe this is news. Are you going to feature the millions of other teenagers that are graduating this year or do you only feature single moms that have famous mothers?

Sue I think you mean single moms that have “infamous” mothers.

Don’t be such a bitch–give credit where credit is due, please. She got her diploma, and can now head to college, hopefully. The more education Bristol Palin, gets, the better the chance her son has at a normal life. Are you such a souless, bitter person that you can’t at least see the good in that?

Didn’t she have a private tutor to finish her degree? Seriously, how hard could it have been? I don’t think just because she got herself knocked up she deserves some medal of courage for completing her high school education. She SHOULD want to do well for herself and her son. That’s what being a parent is all about.

Sue.. i agree this broad is not so special , millions of young girls all over do the same thing and some even WORK and go back to school and take care of their kid, plus some take care of their kid themselves after all they laid down and made the kid! what a bunch of losers the whole damn family with all their damn secrets!!

Good for her. And while yes, there are many teenagers out there who continue their education even while pregnant or after having kids, there are also many that don’t and drop out. I think she and Jamie Lynn Spears are setting a good example (they are public figures after all) on the importance of education.

I agree with you just askin. I’m sure this isn’t how she intended her life to be, but it seems like she is making the best of the situation and moving foward with her life. She seems to love her child and I think it’s a real credit to her that she finished her high school education. A lot of other young, single mothers wouldn’t do this. In a way I think she actually is a good role model. It’s her mother that’s the problem, not her. I agree with you too Aysla, about Jamie Lynn Spears. She has been very mature about the situation that she is in, she could have easily not had that baby and continuted on with her career but she seems to have adjusted very well. Not to say young girls should go and get knocked up, but if they are in that situation I think Bristol and Jamie Lynn are setting a good example.

I think there are so many girls out there that actually struggled to graduate. This girl was handed everything and is now on tv shows preaching “don’t do what I did … but do what I tell you”.

Bristol didn’t struggle, she has a crew behind her. I don’t deny she loves her baby and I am happy she graduated high school but there are alot more out there that actually worked hard to finish school under difficult circumstances and no one covers their stories. This is just a publicity stunt to keep her mother in the news so she is not forgotten by the next election. If it was not for her mother Bristol wouldn’t be news.

And … the last time I checked I had a soul. I’m not bitter either .. just realistic.

Oh please… lets hear from the ones that are really doing good for themselves not these spoiled rotten ass kids who im sure shocked the hell out of everybody that they even got pregnant, which is beyond me!!

I frankly don’t care too much for or about Sarah Palin or her family, but the one thing that impressed me during the campaign was Bristol’s obvious care and affection for her baby brother. At times she seemed more loving and maternal towards that little cutie than his mother. And good for her for graduating!

Bristol is a slut but even worse than that her stupid mother allowed her to have her boyfriend sleep over. Talk about trash.

How funny that anyone can be negative about this story. People are so hell bent about being angry that they can’t see the positive in someone else’s situation? Any young woman who has a child, or any other circumstance that makes it challenging for them to be successful deserves recognition for their achievements. Positivity anyone?!
