Hollywood “it” girl Evan Rachel Wood is all smiles as she visits the fuse set of ‘The Sauce’ in New York City on Thursday.
Looking rather ladylike in a LBD and white gloves, the S.O. of Marilyn Manson is on heavy promo duty, pimping two critically praised flicks that she stars in set for release this year.
First there is ‘Across the Universe’, a musical drama set to over thirty “reimagined” tunes by The Beatles. Wood play a young girl who gets caught up in the counterculture movement that embraced anti-war protests and psychedelic experimentation.
Then in the quirky low-budget ‘King of California’ she plays a woman whose unstable father (Michael Douglas) gets out of a mental institution and tries to convince her that there’s Spanish gold buried somewhere under suburbia.
I got to catch ‘King’ during the recent Toronto International Film Festival and it’s definitely a must-see. It’s without a doubt one of Douglas’s strongest roles in years, but Wood, at the tender age of 19, more than holds her own against the seasoned performer.

I find it downright creepy that she’s trying so hard to emulate Dita’s look. I mean, get a grip, ERW–people are noticing–and not in a good way.
