It was a joyous day for Nicole Richie today (May 13) as the expectant mom watched her daughter Harlow take some of her first baby steps at a park in Los Angeles.
But the good feelings won’t last long as Nicole is said to be spatting with partner Joel Madden over her friendship with stylist-turned-reality TV star Rachel Zoe.
The Good Charlotte rocker blames Rachel for Nicole’s alleged battles with an eating disorder and he’s furious that the two former BFFs have reconnected.
“Joel is very protective of the mother of his child, and he thinks Rachel is a terrible influence on Nicole,” an source tells the National Enquirer. “He and Nicole have had some pretty heated arguments over the issue.”
The insider adds: “He associates that nightmare period of Nicole’s life — the pills and the dieting — with Rachel. He is convinced that she corrupted Nicole. Joel doesn’t think it’s a coincidence that as soon as Nicole erased Rachel from her life, she got healthy and gained 20 pounds. Now with Rachel back in the picture, he’s scared of Nicole relapsing.”
