Out to run a few errands yesterday (May 12), Katharine McPhee was a target of the shutterbugs — and while the American Idol reject didn’t seem to mind, someone else certainly did!
Katharine was surprised and startled by a woman who took it upon herself to make sure she made it through the crowd of photographers. The lady was shooing them away from the singer and then suddenly grabbed McPhee by the arm and ran with her to safety. (Well, as safe as you can be with a crazy woman.)
Meanwhile, with her singing career set permanently at stalled status, Katharine is branching out as an actress. After co-starring alongside fellow starlet Rumer Willis in The House Bunny, she’s currently filming You May Not Kiss the Bride, a romantic comedy about a mobster who tries to arrange his daughter to obtain U.S. citizenship by setting her up with a American photographer.
The flick co-stars Mena Suvari, Rob Schneider and Tia Carrerera.
