It didn’t appear to be a very happy Mother’s Day at the Garner-Affleck residence in Boston, MA yesterday (May 10).
Although Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner recently welcomed daughter Seraphina into the world, that didn’t seem to have much of an effect on their cool demeanor towards one another.
In the morning, Ben set out with Seraphina in tow to get a cup of coffee without either Jennifer or Violet in sight. Then, for a mere hour the family was united for lunch in Boston, but judging from their faces upon departure, they couldn’t get away from each other soon enough.
After lunch, Jennifer took Violet to a local park where even she couldn’t seem to shake a sour facial expression. The 37-year-old actress spent much of her time on her cell phone having what seemed to be a serious conversation before she and Violet left hand-in-hand.
Jen and Ben have been dogged by rumours of a struggling marriage for months, and one thing is for sure, spending hardly any quality time together on Mother’s Day certainly doesn’t help any argument otherwise!
Adding fuel to speculation of trouble in their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Affleck made a last-minute cancellation to Washington DC Saturday night where they were invited to attend the White House Correspondents Dinner. A limo had arrived at the house where Ben is currently staying at in Boston to take them to the airport. However, the limo was turned away empty-handed as the couple opted not to attend the high-profile event, despite their strong political stance and definitive interest in the current presidential term.
In addition to recurring patterns of odd behaviour and lack of affection toward each other, the unexpected cancellation fans the flame of suspicion over the health of the relationship between Ben and Jen. Marriages are susceptible to strain, especially with the addition of a new baby to the family but Ben’s body language toward his wife suggest disdain and unhappiness over love and affection.
His shooting schedule keeps him away from his family for most of the day and the free time they do share together is usually shrouded in silence — except for Violet’s precocious remarks, of course.
During their family strolls, there is little communication and even less affection shared and though they are only inches apart in physical proximity, they seem miles apart from each other on a romantic level. Ben seems upbeat and relaxed while on set but emotionally checked out and despondent with his family.
Has the strain of being a father, husband and a working actor taken its toll on Affleck?

I hope they can rekindle what ever it is that they have lost. It must be really is hard to be young, successful, and having the resposibilitis of a family. Especially for a guy that was known to be a a guy who got around.

Ben’s a great dad and his directing in gone baby gone was amazing. He doesn’t look happy when he is out with his wife,always felt Jennifer Garner was using Ben to further her career and because she wanted a rich and famous husband not because she truly loved him. Life is short Ben go with what makes you happy, your a great dad, a great director and a good actor who chooses interesting roles. Ben fan forever.

That’s a vicious circle. The paparazzi want that happy smiley picture of them. But they are not happy and smiley at all when there are so many paparazzi following them around day after day. They just get annoyed. So the more paparazzi the less smiley the pictures gonna be.
Ben was sick on Saturday. It looks like he is in the pictures.
And they spend no time with each other? Oh, so Ben goes for a walk (1 hour?), goes home, they go out to lucn, and then Jen takes Violet to the park (1 hour). With 24 hours in a day that sure seems like more time together than apart. Maybe Ben went out in the morning to get a card or took the baby out so Jen could sleep in on Mother’s Day.?
Faded Youth is taking on side of a story and making the pictures fit into that story. But there could very well be another explanation.
Plus, Jennifer doesn’t HAVE to be in Boston. She could very well go back to CA and live in their 17 million dollar mansion. If they were having so many problems then the perfect excuse is that Ben is working in Boston, and Jen is with the kids in LA. But, that is not it. They are together in Boston. That tells you something right there.
Wasn’t Jen the bigger star when they got together? She had all the star power and Ben was a joke!
wow, they didn’t spend time together during the pictures the paps took on a sunday that happened to be mother’s day…maybe they don’t celebrate it like others…whatever.

Ben must really be feeling the Jlo vibe because he keeps wearing that sweatshirt all the time the one he got in Savannah when he was with Jlo when they bought the property there.. How does Ben go from Nice shirt and pants to cutoffs and a sweatshirt..

GET A LIFE: Jen started dating Ben in 2004. This was after Bens disasters Reindeer Games, Gigli, Surviving Christmas, Jersey Girl etc. He was a joke, the only thing he was famous for at the time was dating JLo! It wasn’t until 2006 that he started his comeback with Hollywoodland. Jen, while just a tv actress, was at her peak. 2004 was the year 13 Going on 30 came out. She was cute and popular and certainly not box office poison at the time. I hardly thinking Jen used Ben for anything. She is the one who put the brakes on her career after violet was born!

The razzies caught them out for and hour or two alone and that is suppose to equate Ben and Jen breaking up. I don’t see it. Looks they Ben took Jen and family out for Mother’s day lunch. They go to different sides of the car to put the kids in their car seats. That what it looks like to me
For all we know, Ben could have gotten up early with the baby so Jen could sleep in. Ben does get really bad migraines. He does look a little under the weather.
