The New York Times reports the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is expected to announce today that Jon Stewart will host the 80th Annual Academy Awards.
This would be Jon’s second hosting gig for the Oscars; he also hosted the ceremony in 2006. Ellen DeGeneres hosted the kudocast this year.
Stay tuned for an announcement later today.

GOOD!!There’s a bit of an overload of Seacrest everywhere!
I love Jon Stewart! Wuhooo Congrats you hottie!
I like Jon Stewart in small doses, he is just too sarcastic and to have to listen to it for 3+ hours is more than I can stand.
awesome…..I guess Ryan was so used up sucking c*ck for the Emmy gig he could work up the energy for the Oscars….
I find him amusing, even if I don’t ALWAYS agree with him. And with all the awards and stuff, there won’t be too much of him on his own. Basically just the opening monologue.
okay I am tired….the last comment was SUPPOSE to readhe “he COULDN’T work up the energy for the Oscars….”.now that makes sense…..like anyone cares..I know I don’t
yippeeee! love jon stewart!!
I second the “yippeeee!” :).
Didn’t he host the Oscars a couple of years ago and suck at it?
too bad there’s no interest in diversity of opinion.
hahahaha can you imagine Ryan Seacrest doing the Oscars? It would lose all credibility!
Third on the “yippeee”! I love me some Jon Stewart. I thought he did a great job in 2006.
