KELLY CELEBRATES HER COVER GIRL STATUS

Perky morning TV personality Kelly Ripa is all smiles as she arrives with hubby Mark Consuelos at Nikki Midtown in New York City to celebrate her latest cover on Hamptons magazine.

HAMPTONS: When Regis was out for a while this year after his bypass, who was your favorite substitute host?
KELLY RIPA: I liked Anderson Cooper because he’s so knowledgeable. Sam Champion is a ray of sunshine. And, of course, I love my husband, because he makes me smile. But Regis is the vibe of the show. I have the most fun with him.

H: What makes someone a good guest?
KR: When they keep an eye on the clock!

H: What’s your daily regimen for staying so slim and fit?
KR: I don’t get a lot of sleep, but my routine changes from day to day. When the kids are in school, it’s a very civilized schedule: I leave work, go to the gym, pick up Joaquin at school. On the weekends in the Hamptons, I love to go running. We live up in the woods and I run down to the water.

H: Do you have any indulgences?
KR: Oscar Blandi comes to our house for us and cuts the kids’ hair, too.

H: And a style secret that you’d like to share?
KR: My stylist, Faith Cromus-she has style. She always looks effortlessly nice when she walks in. I also value my husband’s opinions on my outfits when we go out together.

H: How would your stylist define your personal style?
KR: Classic with a little edge to it. I wear things that don’t look like they’d show signs of dirt, like lots of brown shades. Once in a while I like dressing up. Mark and I went to the Costume Institute Gala this year-we stayed out way too late, but we felt very elegant.

H: Who are your favorite designers, for you and for your kids?
KR: I love Diane von Furstenberg, Chaiken, Marni, Carolina Herrera, Vera Wang, Dior, and Gwen Stefani’s LAMB-it’s adorable. For the kids, I love Mini Boden-their catalog is so great, and the clothes hold up well. Mark always gets mad when I put the boys in seersucker.

H: Who in the Hamptons do you think has great personal style?
KR: Sarah Jessica Parker-I love her new line, Bitten. But when I put her designs on I say, “I don’t look like SJP!” I don’t look like Coco Chanel when I wear Chanel, either. I know my limitations. I do my best and try to keep it very simple. I love Nicole Richie’s sense of style, but I can’t do that. I’m more understated, but colorful. Trends aren’t for everyone.

H: What’s your favorite Hamptons pastime?
KR: I love to watch my husband and friends play bocce in our backyard. We all sit around and the kids swim in the pool. Occasionally, I’ll say, “Have the men been playing for 16 hours?” They’ve taken to writing their scores on the garage wall.

H: Where do you take your children in the Hamptons?
KR: They love the little carnivals and the beach. We go to the Atlantis Aquarium in Riverhead. And they like to listen to the soundtrack from Jaws when they’re swimming!

H: What’s the worst thing about being a celebrity?
KR: I don’t consider myself a celebrity; I don’t have the pressures of being one. I guess it would be people taking pictures of my children, which I don’t like. But I don’t dream of telling anyone to stop doing their job.
