Embattled soulstress Amy Winehouse arrived to see pal Kelly Osbourne perform in the West End production of ‘Chicago’ last night rocking in a chic trenchcoat – but there were still troubling signs that all is not well with the British songbird.
The hair and makeup may have been unusually kempt, but Amy’s middle finger appeared to be painfully swollen.
The finger in question, looking red and twice the size of her others, has once again raised fears over Amy’s rampant drug use.

I’m not saying she’s not a fucking mess, because we all know she is, but what does a finger have to do with it?
She was wasted and slammed her finger in the door? She is injecting herself through her finger? I just don’t see the connection.

It looks like she either bit her nail too much or pulled a hangnail and it got infected. No big deal, but she should get it lanced at the doctors.

AH! thanks Spinner. That makes some sense. But I’m not convinced it’s not just an infection from a hangnail. Everyone knows she’s a user, why would she have to hide the marks?!
If she’s freebasing she would use her strongest (middle) finger to pack and if she doesn’t wait for the bowl to cool she’d burn her finger.

I’m a substance abuse counselor, and I have never heard of a red finger indicating drug use. Now, maybe it’s just that I’m not a very GOOD substance abuse counselor.
Usually I hear of people shooting up in veins between their toes or fingers to avoid marks.
Maybe it’s from picking her nose????

And hers was from chronic drug use……………..It cuts off the circulation in the fingers, and they start to rot off. NO LIE.

Wowww you could be onto something there She. I mean there is no doubting that Amy is a serious user. I don’t know if it is an indication that she is a druggie but it does just add to the list of grossness that is Amy. Missing teeth, birdsnest hair, bloody ballet shoes, swollen fingers….ew.
I think she slammed her finger in the door. But why are her nails so dirty and nasty?????????? I love Amy but her hygiene is seriously lacking.
Seems to me that a chronic drug user would be more likely to suffer this type of injury just because they’re stoned.
Theoretically, it could be septic emboli from a bacterial endocarditis caused by IV drug abuse. If that was the case, though, she would be deathly ill.

I once pulled out a hang nail and my finger looked just like Amy’s. It was read, swollen and it hurt like a mother. Could very well be that’s what happened to her. In any case, she needs a major manicure!
