So says a source at Page Six who says the British actor who arrived on set of ‘3:10 to Yuma’ via helicopter and would never speak to costars Russell Crowe, Peter Fonda and Gretchen Mol unless the script called for it.
Umm…maybe he’s a method actor?
The only thing more shocking than accusations of divadom on Bale’s part? The film’s castmembers say recreational phone-thrower Russell Crowe is a “sweetheart.”

Hmmmm..maybe they mixed it up and its the other way round?Christian Bale is one of my fav actors and he’s known to be very private. So if its true he’s not talking to them,so what?Ýou dont have to be chummy and friends with your co-star as long as you get the work done.

I don’t buy this story! I’m not a Christian Bale fan, but this just doesn’t ring true for me…

I’ve met the Bale, and he was very nice- but who knows?
I don’t care- he’s so friggin hot, and a very good actor.

Russell has said that he loves doing westerns because its being paid for the chance to play cowboy. It was probably like a vacation for him.

If you’ve seen the original movie (this is a remake) Christian Bale’s character eventually is all alone with his conscience, everyone turns on him. Maybe he is a method actor and couldn’t befriend people onset and stay in character.

i totally cannot believe that. xtian bale is an absolute sweetheart. i think it’s Russell Crowe’s fab PR team (im being sarcastic) that’s leaking the lies

I think Barks is right on.
Bale is one of the best actors under 35, and whatever he needs to do in order to make a fantastic movie is ok with me. I think this story is most likely a bit exaggerated, though.

Weren’t Bale & Crowe just loving it up with each other in their recent publicity tour for this? OK, not that they couldn’t be faking it, but Crowe doesn’t strike me as someone all that inclined to play nice if he’s not feeling it. Anyone, after pretty much every film, it seems to be obligatory that one of the stars is reported as a diva/o. He probably just ate the last Krispy Kreme one day and a crew member is pissed. More importantly though - do Bale & Crowe make-out in this film? That would be hot.
